Yolanda Bergman began creating Raising the Lights in 2007
in an effort to help in the fight to stop global warming. Having participated in numerous of her children's school fundraisers,
she saw an opportunity to combine the business of fundraising
with the sales of energy-saving, earth-friendly products.

Yolanda is dedicated to finding unique products that will
help in the fight to stop global warming in meaningful ways,
and believes that through simple lifestyle choices we can
affect change. Yolanda has had a successful career as an entrepreneur - she started Yolanda's Food Fitness, a healthy
low-fat meal service, as well as CLASS, a unique Cardio Barre workout studio. She is the author of national bestseller
Food Cop and Diet 911 and has been featured in numerous articles in national and international publications as a
healthy living lifestyle expert.

Yolanda lives in Los Angeles, and enjoys spending time with
her children and helping in the fight against global warming.

  • Over 500 billion plastic bags are consumed worldwide each year. Plastic bags can take up to 1000 years to decompose.
  • As they decompose, plastic bags leach toxic chemicals into our ground and water. Plastic bags are made from nonrenewable petroleum resources.
  • Plastic bags kill about 100,000 whales, seals, turtles, and other marine animals each year.
  • It takes 91% less energy to recycle a pound of plastic than it takes to recycle a pound of paper, but only about 1% of plastic bags are ever recycled.
